Buenos Aires, February 17 (NA) – A Peruvian woman was detained accused of stealing 18 cell phones during the Buenos Aires carnivals in the Boedo neighborhood. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the incident occurred early Tuesday when officers from the Buenos Aires Police were supervising the festivities of the corsos at the intersection of San Juan and Boedo avenues. Passengers alerted the authorities to the presence of an alleged criminal who was stealing phones, for which they proceeded to a search and found a total of 18 devices. Among the cell phones found were six iPhones, three Xiaomi, five Samsung, three Motorola, and one Infinix. Meanwhile, the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 36 ordered the arrest of the woman for the crime of theft and the seizure of the items. After the due procedures, the woman was made available to Judge Alejandro Ferro, while the investigation continues to return the recovered belongings to their owners.
